Attractions in Cancun

Discover Sightseeing tours to archaelogical sites

Explore the archeology sites in and nearby the island and discover some of the most renowned attractions that have made of the Riviera Maya a favorite tourist destination. Ruinas del Rey is a good place to visit in Cancun and one of the few ancient Mayan archeology sites on the island along with El Meco Ruins located in northern Cancun. If you plan to visit the recently voted "New Wonder of the World", Chichen Itza, stay until the evening for the spectacular night light show, one of its new attractions. Daily tours head towards Tulum, an ancient Mayan fortress with a cliff overlooking an unbelievable beach. Other widely visited attractions nearby Cancun are the archeology sites of Coba, Tulum, and Ek Balam.

Find out the details about these tours browsing our Cancun attractions guide.

Tips
All Cancun beaches are supposed to be public but many hotels try to keep bystanders and visitors out of their area. If you are not staying at an ocean-view hotel you could try the in-between areas that show signs to indicate the way from the street to the beach. If you would like to have more privacy head to the south of the hotel zone, you will find this area less crowded.
